Umberto's of Wantagh, 180 Wantagh Ave., Wantagh, (516) 221-5696: A family-owned neighborhood Italian restaurant, it's open from 1 to 9 p.m. on Sunday. You may wait but this is the South Shore after all and locals tell Daily Voice no one gets turned away.
On Facebook, someone posted, "Awesome food and service start to finish. I am an anything parmigiana guy and I loved the veal parm and eggplant rollatini. Not to mention the pasta app and ricotta cheesecake finale!"
Another comment on Facebook said, "Great Italian food and the best pizza on Long Island. Large portions. Great food. Cozy atmosphere."
A review on Facebook said, "They make the best drinks exactly like you want. ... Food is top notch! Service is excellent staff is friendly and helpful and clean restaurant I would recommend 110% to anyone."

A neighborhood diner with an unpretentious, inviting look that makes you feel you could settle in and enjoy some family time.
A Yelp poster described it. "Very lovely diner. Pretty prints and photos on walls. Fine waitstaff."
On Yelp, Shreya M says, " Probably one of the most cutest diners I have ever been to! Love the decor and the location. The ambiance and food here are very pleasant as well. My friend got their penne a la vodka and it was very delicious. Their cake slices are delicious as well. We had ordered a chocolate cake slice and a carrot cake slice and both of these were pretty good slices for a diner! "
A poster from Queens said on Yelp, "Overall a delicious dinner in a cute little town, I usually go for their brunch special and order the salmon Benedict with a side of pancakes. The salmon Benedict is very delicious with a generous amount of smoked salmon for a pretty cheap price!"
